We believe in the God of the Bible as He reveals Himself through the Holy Scriptures and the Holy Spirit. There is one God. He is the first person of the Trinity. He reveals Himself as a father. He created the earth and all that is in it. He is perfect, unchanging, and eternal. He loves all and desires that all would be saved through saving faith in His son Jesus Christ.
We believe Jesus is the only begotten son of God. He is the second person of the Trinity. Fully divine and fully human, He has existed eternally and was sent by God to be born of the virgin Mary for the purpose of redeeming mankind. He did so by dying on the cross to pay the debt of man's sin with God. He lived a perfect, sinless life and died in our place. He raised Himself back to life as a demonstration of His power and victory over death, Satan, sin, and our sinful flesh. He ascended to heaven where He now sits interceding on our behalf to God as King of kings, Lord of lords and our Great High Priest.
We believe the Holy Spirit is God, the third person of the Trinity. He was sent on behalf of Jesus to bear witness to Him, teach and remind believers of Jesus’ words, convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. He is the advocate and helper that guides believers into truth, speaking on behalf of Jesus to bring Him glory. He empowers us to know and live out God's plan for our Christian lives, giving us spiritual gifts and distributing them according to His will.
We believe the Bible is eternally true and relevant, teaching God's plan of redemption for mankind throughout history, revealing God's character, and pointing to Jesus. The Bible contains the living, active, eternal Word of God and is a special revelation of God for the world. It's purpose is to teach, reprove, correct, train, and equip believers. The Bible is the 66 book canon, made up of the Old and New Testaments, written by God through human hands, using human words. It is authoritative in every area of life.
We believe humankind was created by God in His image and likeness and is therefore accountable to His holiness. God is motivated by His great love for humanity which is why He sent Jesus to earth. We are born with a fallen nature which means we have the innate capacity to sin and the desire to do so. It is because of our sinful nature, inherited by Adam, the first of humankind that we are separated from God. Our only hope is to be saved by placing our faith in Jesus, who paid for our sin with His sacrificial life, death, and resurrection on earth. Accepting Jesus' redemptive work on the cross, we are "born again" and therefore given a new start, forgiveness and acceptance by God. One day every person, dead or living, will pay honor to Jesus for His sacrifice.
We believe salvation is a gift to be accepted or rejected but not earned. It comes by faith in Jesus Christ's work on the cross. Salvation gives us the right to pass from simply being God's creation to becoming His children. Being saved, God begins a transformative work in our lives, hearts and minds, healing the wounds of the past, providing power for the situations of today and hope for tomorrow. His salvation allows us to experience forgiveness, fellowship and intimacy with God. Jesus' death and resurrection on the cross redeems our eternal souls, gives us citizenship in the Kingdom of God and makes heaven our eternal home when this life ends.
Marriage is God-ordained. “The creator made them male and female, and said, “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh” (Matthew 19:4-5). Marriage is to be an exclusive relationship, a lifelong faithful union between a man and a woman. This relationship between a husband and wife should parallel the relationship between Christ and the Church (Ephesians 5:23-30).
